What makes Tax Guyz stand above all the other tax review firms? Quite simply....OUR SERVICE!
-
We work EXCLUSIVELY with FIRST NATIONS Canada Wide
- Our review is conducted entirely on-site
- Our review includes ALL Federal and Provincial taxes
- Upon completion of our review, we submit a "review summary"
- Tax Guyz provides our clients with: a copy of the claims that were submitted. This includes a copy of our working papers and spreadsheets! These documents are usually kept "secret" by other firms! Put it to the test...ask your present tax firm to provide you with the supporting documents for the last claims that were filed on your behalf.
- Many of our competitors are mandated to get through the review as quickly as possible. By doing this, they don't claim $$$ amounts under a specific value. This results in the First Nation losing out on potentially large sums. For Example: the consultant comes across a petty cash file - this file contains approximately 10,000 receipts with an average GST amount of .45 cents...the potential claim for that file alone would be arount $4,500.00
- Our mandate is: "To get our clients EVERY dollar that is owed to them". If you paid tax - regardless of the amount, we will add it to the claim process...NO EXCEPTIONS!!
Our fee is a commission (plus any applicable taxes) based on the amount of money that we recover for your First Nation - if there is no refund, there is no charge. The fee is based on the "Gross Refund Realized", defined as "the total refunds realized during the engagement, including any interest paid. It does not include liabilities that may be owed by the First Nation to any government agency". Tax Guyz will invoice for this engagement when the rebate application has been approved by the government agency. Your payment is due when the money is received from the government agency. In the case of input tax credits, we will invoice when the GST return on which the input tax credit is claimed has been identified (since this portion of the claim must be included on your next filing (ITC’s are not applicable to all bands). This is a commission based strictly on the amount of money that our consultant claims for your First Nation regardless of where your band is located or how long it takes us to do the review! Because we work on a contingency fee, we are a very cost-effective back-up to your First Nation’s current accounting system. If there are recoveries to be made, your First Nation keeps the majority of the findings. This represents $$$ that are available to be claimed that you were unaware of = FOUND MONEY! PLEASE NOTE: Most of our competitors increase their rates to have their consultant go to a band which has no year-round road access. WE DON'T!! If your First Nation has no year-round road access, we request that the band pay all expenses related to “special access” travel from the mainland to the band as well as on-reserve accommodations and expenses. Our fee remains the same no matter where we are going. | Experience:
After individual careers with: Canada Revenue Agency (CRA); working with other tax recovery firms; and in the financial sector; the consultants that form Tax Guyz made a decision to dedicate their efforts to First Nation communities exclusively. While working with the "competition", our consultants found that too many shortcuts were taken. The communities they were supposed to be helping were losing out on very large sums of money! A decision was made to form this company in order to better service these communities. We are now able to offer a better service by: |
